EuroMycel, of France Champignons is a privileged commercial partner of the international group BONDUELLE.
Founded in 1868, Royal Champignon is the origin of the entire mushroom industry in the Loire Valley.
The company took on another dimension following the merger with Guilbaud Group. In this set up, EuroMycel was the historical spawn maker subsidiary of Guilbaud Group and nowadays of France Champignon.
The rapid expansion of the group since the 1950’s mainly through external growth allowed deployment of its innovation capacity and efficiency throughout the process from spawning to finished products distribution.
In the meantime, EuroMycel has developed an impressive expertise, a «certain savoir-faire» associated with a unique strain collection. Its international adventure started in 2000, while remaining the supplier to its parent company France Champignon.

In order to get more out of mushroom compost, we are applying an innovant physiological conditioning process on our commercial sub lines.
EuroMycel’s approach differs widely from standard breeding strategies, by the fact that our varieties are mostly on the basis of some biochemical markers exhibited by the vegetative phase.
Our unique strain maintenance relying upon mycelium interaction with compost confers to our spawn product the highest reliability.
Pinning performances are consistently achieved thanks to a specific step by step vegetative screening combined to a strict control of the water supply of our cultures.
Our deep knowledge in fungal physiology allows us to raise our master cultures in highly optimised conditions of selectivity.
Once the best physiological activity is found out, related subcultures are grown in an environment enabling their absorption capacity development. Mushroom spawn absorption enhancement may be triggered in some very narrow circumstances well defined by the means of sophisticated physical measurements. Nutrient absorption capacity is critical for spawn run in compost, and subsequently later in the crop for bio transformation. On this basis, strain differentiation becomes also possible.
For instance with strain E58, depending on the biological pathway, a given master culture may become High Density (HD) 58 or Premium 58. Both phenotypes remain completely different, fulfilling however, two different commercial segments
We supply 10 million of litres of spawn to Northern European, Polish, Turkish, Israeli, Indian, Chinese and French markets, with strains grown on the best possible carrier for the genic expression of our strains: rye.
